Dr. Susruth Shetty received his undergraduate medical education from Manipal University's Kasturba Medical College in Mangalore. He earned two gold medals, including the famous KP Ganesan Gold Medal, and has an outstanding academic record during his time studying for the MBBS. He also received distinction in each of the four-year exit exams. After being admitted through the All India entrance exam, he obtained his basic general surgical training at JIPMER, Puducherry, an Institute of National Importance.
At NHLM Medical College in Ahmedabad, where he received training in gastroenterology, hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery, and gastroenterological oncology, he was also awarded the Late Jagmohan Das Gold Medal by the Gujarat University.
He received specialised training in robotic surgery, and Intuitive Surgical (USA) has certified him as a Board Certified Robotic Surgeon. From ESSO, Regensburg, Germany, he received additional training in cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC.
